What are our expectations of auditioning candidates?

Anyone auditioning to sing in Stewart Hall Singers is expected to have previous choral singing experience. Basic music theory knowledge is a requirement: note values, note names, repeat signs, etc. It is NOT a requirement to possess the ability to sight-read a piece of music you have never seen before. It is however necessary to have the willingness to learn your music outside of rehearsal time. To assist you, practice aids to the music we sing are generally available online.

How does the audition work?

The audition process is simple.

You are expected to come to your audition prepared to sing an audition excerpt to be determined.

At the audition, your vocal range will be verified, as well as your ability to sing in tune, and that your tone quality will blend with the sound of the choir.
